You're invited! Attend our 11th DukeGEN Startup Showcase in San Francisco. The DukeGEN Startup Showcase is a great event for learning about entrepreneurship, seeing the latest Duke startups, and meeting other entrepreneurial Dukies. We select several startups founded by Dukies to pitch to a panel of Duke investors. See our blog posts summarizing past events: 2011 in NYC, 2011 in San Francisco, and 2010 in NYC.

This event will be held on Wednesday, June 3th. **Space is limited**
Location: Google's office in San Francisco, 345 Spear St, 6th Floor

The Duke startups that will be pitching are:
  • Model Citizen is a peer-to-peer shopping platform for women to shop each others' closets!  Our social style sharing community allows women to rent and sell items from their closet.  Model Citizen is creating one, large, virtual closet, providing consumers with a new retail model and source for clothing ownership.  We are providing solutions and creating new ecosystems in following markets: the sharing economy, e-commerce, and consignment.
  • Bikes of Reckless Optimism (Bikes O.R.O.) builds commuter bikes for socially conscious consumers. For every O.R.O. bike purchased, we directly support the donation of a bike to someone in need.
  • FarmShots is a tool to help farmers monitor their crops via satellite, drone, and manned aircraft imagery
  • Avibe is a social music network that tracks what you play across streaming platforms. Upvote, send, and discover music to earn points and win rewards.
  • Discors is a mobile news app that replaces user comments with expert commentary
  • YesApp is a mobile-first social discovery app that lets you discover amazing stuff, collect the things you love, and buy it all in one place.
  • Ropazi is a curated marketplace that brings together fashion forward moms looking to buy unique clothes for their kids AND the indie designers who create these fashions. Co-founded by Duke and Stanford grads
  • ello.raw makes raw dessert bites that are nutritious and healthy
  • Vocatio is vocationally themed media network and engagement platform that uses eHarmony like technology for career discovery, exploration, preparation and matching of entry-level candidates with employers
